First Week

Ripley at Pleasant Creek Park

Our trip has finally started.  We left our house 4 hours later than planned, not to bad for a 6 month trip. We have had a few minor problems. Mainly, we lost time dealing with a leaking tire valve on the trailer, the pinbox (that's maybe RV jargon) had to be cut off and replaced and the truck warning light of low tire pressure came on today.  We have forgotten a few items that we wanted to bring but nothing serious. The first item I remembered that I forgot was the tripod. The list gets a little longer every day.
We have stayed at three campgrounds, Ohio, Illinois, Iowa, no Walmart yet. At this stage of the trip we are in a travel phase of out trip. We are not spending much time sightseeing. Guy and I have been trying to make the most of our travel days. While in Illinois, I stayed up to see the meteor shower but alas not a one.  In Iowa, we went to the 3 day Renaissance festival. It was much smaller than Maryland's festival. I forgot to take my camera but I did get some photos of the good citizens in their finery on my iPhone. We also spent a day at a nearby state park.

PS. The red wing blackbird has held a special place with me since second grade.  Each student had to do a report on one bird. By the time I got to choose all the bright pretty birds were taken. The red wing was the most color I could get.
PSS  I tried to pit the photos in chronological order but the site would not have it.

A Twofer

The journey is the trip. Photo taken on the way to OC.
We took the North Trail (no name yet) to Ocean City, MD.  We got in a practice run and on Saturday went to the condo spring cleanup and association meeting. The Castaways RV Resort and Campground was a great place. The Castaways have a dog beach and run for Rip, a beachy feel to the place and the campground was kept really nice. My sister was here Friday night. Nobody felt claustrophobic since we spent most of the time outside.
Ripley's scored Castaways: 5       K&G gave it:  4.6

That says it all.
