THREE YEARS LATER -DESTINATION ACADIA
Although in the past 3 years we have been on a few weekend camping trips, none have been like our cross country trip. This year, we planned for 2 weeks. Our destination was Acadia National Park. We took our time reaching Acadia because we firmly believe the journey is the trip. We headed out on a gorgeous Saturday morning for Quakertown, PA. After setting up, we went to a farmers market that was not too great.  Sunday, we left for Newton, NJ. We went to a local sports bar to watch the football games. It worked well, Steelers played on the TV in front, Raven's on the screen behind.  Monday, we were in Clinton, Connecticut. Since there was a Margaritaville nearby, we drove to the Mohegan Sun casino. We were about the liveliest people there so we didn't spend much time in Margaritaville but I got my pictures. Guy spent our free money from the casino on slots and turned it in to real money - $80 worth. After that we went to Cape Cod.  Hurricane José made his presence know by sending us wind and rain. I kept reminding myself  I was lucky. It only messed up 3 days of vacation not my life. We didn't let the rain stop us. We drove around the area looking at beaches, small towns, Anne and lighthouses. The ferries to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket were mostly canceled so we didn't go to either island. This gives us a reason to go back. It took about 2 hours of driving to get out of the rain but we made it to Old Orchard Beach, Maine. It stayed cloudy but dry and the sun finally came back out on Saturday for our trip to Acadia.
On a wrong turn we found these

our 2nd campsite the great divide

I'm not sure why they had this fork there just to take photos

Since we only are going to one national park Ripley needed something else to have his pic taken with

the casino Mohegan Sun, it was huge.

scratch another Margaritaville off the list

Old Orchard Beach, Maine Pretty beach and no rain

Ripley was excited to be out

We were all glad to have dry weather

Later in the day we found this beach

The were a lot of people with their dogs. We were mean and didn't let Ripley play. He would have needed a bath.
