Yellowstone overview. To Canyon Village day1

Guy and I spent 15 days in Yellowstone. We got to know the grand loop and the area. We used all but the west entrance for one reason or the other. Our base camp was Fishing Bridge.  We would set out every day for our next adventure.  The park is divided into 8 sections with highlights in each area. We explored one section per day.  The scenery was beautiful, the wildlife outstanding. We saw a tremendous variety of animals. Some, we got pictures of many times, some good some not so good. We figured better to try than to get nothing. Some animals we did not see at all (the coyote 😡), others we saw only 1 (wolf), others a few, and still others herds. The odds were high on not seeing a wolf put not only did we see it, we saw him catch and eat his dinner. We saw a herd of bison ford the Yellowstone River.
We took 2 bus tours. One was in the 1937 yellow touring car. The other was in another Yellowstone bus. We preferred driving ourselves around. You could stay as long as you wanted and park easier. I had wanted to ride in the bus for the experience. Now I have.
Guy did go fishing in Yellowstone Lake. He didn't catch any. Ripley wanted to go in the water but we kept him out of it. I enjoyed the scenery, mountains, blue sky, white puffy clouds, and the lake.
Some of the buildings in Yellowstone are historic. We managed to get reservations at the Lake Hotel and Old Faithful Inn. They were both beautiful in different ways. Old Faithful Inn was the rugged log cabin style but think 5 stories high. The Lake Hotel was more elegant. Large windows overlooking the lake. A large open floor with chairs clustered in groups with a piano and bar. Not only did we have dinner there but once we just went to enjoy the ambiance.
We did go to Jackson, Wyoming one night. We drove down through Grand Teton National Park. We didn't spend much tome in either place but we got to see both places.
We took thousands (literally) of pictures. I hope you get a chance to see them. Here is a sampling of them.
