an American Bavarian town

the town was dying so came up with a plan for tourism

he buildings, the signs....
the flowers and the mountain backdrop, give it the Bavarian ambiance

the murals were Toppenish's answer

each painting must have some humor, be historically accurate and approve by the mural committee

an artist is chosen, a small scale version is approved, the mural is painted on the first Saturday in June by a
number of artist each painting their section as conceived by the original artist

Ripples Ripley found his mark

our campsite at Snoqualmie River RV Park
We left Glacier, headed for Washington, with a stop at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. It has a very pretty setting on Lake Coeur d'Alene. We didn't spend much time exploring the city because the Ironman competition had the roads tied up. Instead, we let Ripley swim and play fetch in the lake.  He was in his glory. We ate at a floating restaurant. They had these pecans on the salad that were delicious. I made Guy drive into Coeur d'Alene the morning we left to see it in the daylight.
From there, we went to the Bavarian town. The people at our campsite there seemed super friendly. Ripley is a great conversation started. So many people have or have had a golden, that is one topic, how beautiful he is another, how well behaved, how friendly, how happy, how spoiled, how funny when he plays with his leash...
The next stop in Washington, was Yakima, wine country, much to Guy's regret, all the wine tasting places were closed by the time we got settled. So off we went to Toppenish to view the murals. We saw the original paintings and the viewed the ones on the buildings, truly amazing. To appease Guy, we went to one of the casino on the way back. He came back a little ahead so that was good.
From Yakima, we went to Snoqualmie River area. We celebrated the 4th in a small town. It was a good day to be outside. We should have gone to the falls on the 4th because on the 5th it was really hard to find a place to park.
