SLC and Canyonland

Our next campground was Lakeside RV in Provo, Utah. Our neighbor was sitting up her site with her four month old puppy. Ripley and the puppy had fun together, of course. The lady, well she had some issues going on and I hope they do okay. We went in to Salt Lake City to see the Mormon temple and the Cathedral of the Madeleine. We also drove to Great Salt Lake so we could say we saw it. We left the next morning and headed to the southeast corner of Utah for 2 more national parks.
the 2 campground ducks liked to tease Ripley

Salt Lake City had many gorgeous buildings, including the courthouse
across from the church I went to see was this beauty,
the First Presbyterian Church

this was the church I went to see, Cathedral of the Madeleine

the inside was a work of art
as was the organ and the stain glass windows

The Mormon temple

the Capitol, I would have like to see the dome

the Mormon buildings are situated in Temple Square and the town moves
Out from there

Not a great day to see the Great Salt Lake

this campground had a large dog park that Ripley enjoyed
we gave Rips the brochure to study since he didn't go with us

we have a rule that we can't eat in places we have at home but
we never heard of this one only burgers, fries and drinks

the drive to Canyonland was filled with rock formations

these are mesas, the top is larger than the sides, unlike buttes that have
Small tops and longer sides

the sky and the mountains offset the rock formations

it was one of those places that every time you turned, it was better than before
Mesa Arch was cool from afar

it was cool to look through too, a bit of Stargate

looking at the Island in the sky
my turn to pose for the camera

when we came upon this area, I thought something was wrong with my eyes

I think the Green River is at the bottom of these cliffs
again my eyesight is off, the mountains are blurry

as the sunset to set, the mountains turn golden

the mesas have the purple clouds behind them

the sun sets on our day at Canyonland

so we headed into Moab for dinner
