Taos NM, Colorado Springs

We headed north after leaving the balloon fiesta. We had debated about going south but no snow was in the forecast so we headed for Colorado. It rained while we were in Colorado Springs, so maybe we should have went to Texas. Oh well, we will just have to go again some other time. Before we got to Colorado, we stopped in Taos, New Mexico.
downtown Taos, a bit historic, but turned into boutiques and galleries, there
are so many art galleries out west

still flowers in bloom

the Rio Grande Gorge

the bridge over the gorge

unfortunately, they need to install phones for suicide pevention

Orlando's, they close at three and reopen at five. We only had to wait
A few minutes, a lot of people were waiting ...on the other side

after dinner wine tasting, the owner was there, very informative
looking over the bridge
our site at night, we liked the landscaping here

back in Colorado the aspens are still changing

campground in Colorado Springs, we got the last site

the forecast said rain starting around 12, more like 10
our herd of deer

balanced rock at the Garden of the Gods

the park was great
the leader of the pack, Ripley and I were within 15 feet

there were at least 6 deer, they would walk through the park

behind our trailer was their favorite eat and nap spot

we saw them walking up and down, going under, through
and over the fence

after eating they settled in for a rest

it was beautiful the day we left. And the rain was snow on top of Pike's Peak
