The Arches not McDonalds

Our next National Park was Arches. Here we played in the arches climbing rocks and doing some hiking. It was an enjoyable day.

Ripley passed the Arches
the formations all had names, but we did not agree with all of them

this is the North and South Window as seen from our campground
this is a cairn that marked the trails, your next move will be in sight of this cairn

these were part of the Courthouse along Park Avenue

this was the back of the Courthouse

they called these the Three Gossips, I called them the three kings
Balanced Rock, but what about the rock on the left side, it is balancing too.

the North Window, much more impressive closeup

see how much bigger it gets as you get closer, Hi Guy

this was Turret Arch but the rocks around it look like a dog
don't be fooled, there are more people in these area, I just made Guy stand
Till they had all moved

Guy being very macho

over at Turret Arch, Guy posed in the center

small cave in the area

at a view point looking over Arches
a collared lizard stop to pose for us

the Fiery Furness, you must have a ranger guide to hike in this area

Sandstone Arch tucked amongst the other rock formations
we didn't see the name for this arch, it was across from Sandstone Arch

another arch tucked in the rock formations, this one on top

Devil's Garden, amazing how many parks have a devil something
we stopped at Castle Creek Winery for a tasting, thank goodness it was open

the Colorado River outside of Moab
looking through the North Window

I climbed up the rocks too, Guy said three months ago I would
not have climbed them, I said I hurt less now
