Last stop in California, First in Arizona

Sadly, our time on San Diego came to an end. Kathryn and Kayla took the redeye back to BWI; Guy and I headed west to Palm Spring. The thermometer hit 126° in the sun but in the shade it was much cooler more like 97°. It was a dry heat and if you could find shade, it wasn't to bad. It had a tropical feel to it. I guess it was all the palm trees. Palm Springs is probably great in the winter. while here we took the gondola to the top of the mountain, much cooler there. Guy tried to fry an egg outside, but it didn't work or we just were not patient enough.  We went to the buffet for the crab legs I have been waiting for since July 4th. A high school friend drove out to visit. Great to see you Tracy.
We then left California, to go to Arizona, near Phoenix. We never saw any employees at the campground we stayed at. We keep cool by going to see November Man then went to Margaritaville.

solar energy powers much of Palm Springs

it seemed hot enough to fry an egg

downtown is filled with palm trees
the floor rotated as the car moved up the mountain
behind our trailer was the mineral water pool just a little cooler than the air

one of the fancy resort hotels

looking down on Chino Canyon

from the top of the mountain looking over San Jacinto State Park

the car looks so tiny as it climbs 8516 feet to the top
it was much cooler at the top, we were much happier

no he hasn't gone crazy, the ponderosa pines smell like vanilla or butterscotch

can you believe we saw a bat, it was still daylight out
the car held 80 people, fortunately there was only 33 on ours

there are only two cars, yet over Labor Day they transported over 10,000
we drove through the town Tracy lives in but we couldn't get together then.
Tracy drove over to our place to visit

the sky was great to look at, rays shining, puffy clouds

dust storms came up going to Arizona

they came up quite often on this day

I am trying to get photos of all the states we enter

we were at this campground for the weekend yet never saw an employee

nice campground but no grass

the palm trees look good against the blue sky
everyone needs goals, mine is to visit all the Margaritavilles, there is at least
24, we have been to 8 with another 3 to go on this trip

each one is a little different, Glendale's was fun

no game today. This is a great area
the cactus started showing up in Arizona
