Santa Cruz and Sequoia National Park

marina in Santa Cruz

it leads to the Pacific

this restaurant was recommended by an employee of one of the campgrounds we had stayed at
even though the food was just ok the scenery was wonderful

sailboats coming in for the night and sea lions
We went down the coast from San Francisco to Santa Cruz. We spent our time on the beach and boardwalk.  Like OC but not. Then we traveled half way across the state to Sequoia National Park.  We have been across the state of California four times with more to come.
we started at the boardwalk, shop rides and eateries

at first the crowd was very light but picked up later

the ocean water was still very cold, not far enough south yet
the sea lions enjoyed it

basking in the sun until

someone wants to get down or comes up then they all complain, loudly

taken from the pier

there were a few whales in the harbor area but we couldn't tell what type

there was surfing on the other side of the wharf

all this in Santa Cruz

it all hasn't been rosey, there was the bumper that fell off and had to be welded back

the sky ride in Santa Cruz was crowded

Sequoia trees seem like Redwoods

this is the largest tree by volume it is about 2500 years

Guy had a tough climb

selfie in Sequoia National Park

I couldn't begin to climb the tree

but the bear cub could, we saw two bear families during our stay
this fallen tree can be driven through with a car
the trunks are so impressive

they are huge but redwoods grow taller

.
the mountains around the Sequoia are impressive
